Did you download the nVidia driver from the Dell website? If not, I recommend downloading and installing the driver that Dell provides.

Did you install the Intel video driver first?

From what I have seen with most if not all of these laptops with the i3 and i5 series CPU's with the integrated video in them, is that the Intel video driver must be installed first regardless of whether the secondary card is Nvidia or ATI for the driver to install.

1.I also download it from nvidia website,latest..still got problem..

    2. I have a download it from dell website..still the same problem..

    3. Yes, i install the intel drivers first then nvidia..but im not sure when the third time i reformat i reinstall nvidia 1st or intel... if thats the problem, should i uninstall the intel and reinstall back the nvidia first after that intel?

even i reformat using 32-bit home basic and install it using driver given by the dell(cd driver), still the problem occur..

Im not sure whether the discrete graphic is the main problem or the computer system itself or the driver

Did you download and install all of the drivers for your laptop from Dell, including any chipset drivers and system software that may be available? The chipset drivers are absolutely necessary to install first, before anything else gets installed. The H57 chipset is probably not being recognized correctly by Windows 7, which will cause all kinds of issues when you try to install other drivers.

listed on the Nvidia mobile modder site don't know if followiing the modding of your.inf file will allow you to install your graphics driver but might be worth a try. NVIDIA MobilityModder It's a pretty straight forward program just follow the directions. Hope this will work for you. Fabe

    Hello,

I have recently purschase a nvidia gtx 480 to upgrade current GT 8800.

I run window 7 pro on 64bit and i am having major problem installing nvidias current release (258.96_desktop_win7_winvista_64bit)

I have used driver sweeper to get rid of all nvidia drivers on my computer and i am still getting the same NONE responsive install.

The freeze or hang happens when nevidea lunches the install ( when the screens background is covered in nvidea logos and the status bar appears.

The Status bar never get past the video component heading which is about a 3rd of the way 30% of the status bar.

task manager says the the install is running but even after 45 mins into the install the progress bar still has not moved form 30%.

i have also tried using the 3d guru drivers and copied the "nv_disp" into the extracted ( extracted to a fold in my downloads folder) folder.

have also read the nvidea driver set up form start to finish thred and still not been able to get it working.

right now i have the GTX 480 card in my computer, tried updating the driver from right clicking the video controller vga in the device manager and windows said it found the driver but encounter a error on the install and timed out.

    WTF

can some one please help me.
