64-bit SD Card Driver for Sony VGN-TZ37GN

    Hi
I have a clean install to Win 7 Home Premium 64bit for my Sony VAIO VGN-TZ37GN.

I am able to find all drivers except the one for SD Card reader.

Error in Device Manager is Base System Device

    And the Hardware IDs is

    PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&SUBSYS_900E104D&REV_11
    PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&SUBSYS_900E104D
    PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&CC_088000
    PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&CC_0880

Have tried similar drivers from Sony Vaio TT models but no luck.

    Can anybody help?

Welcome to Seven Forums. Whenever you post on a thread at the bottom of the thread their will be similar threads some resolved others with suggestions. That's how I found this one.Now it's a shot in the dark since on the Sony Site Asian Pacific which is where you can only find your model it only offers XP driver and doesn't even say if it's a Ricoh, Texas instruments or conexant card reader.
So on post #2 on this thread their is a 64 bit card reader driver you might want to give it a shot. Memory Card Reader Sony Vaio VGN-FZ350AE Post back and we'll go from Their. Fabe

After a second look your probably needing a Texas Insturments 64bit SD card readeer driver. Judging by this on their site for their XP drivers (32bit which won't work)Fabe

I'm only suggesting these since XP was the last supported OS for your laptop. Fabe

Actually I tried different suggestions from similar threads before I posted mine because none of them works. Two of your suggestions I tried already and the one for TZ3 cannot be installed.
    What a headache!
    Pls help

Since no help is allowed, I reinstall my Win 7 in 32bit instead of 64bit. Everything works now. Thanks thefabe's suggestions.

You can always try other laptop manufactures for their 64bit SD card reader drivers.Theirs only a couple reasons it's made it harder.
    1. Not knowing who the SD reader is made by their are 3 major ones. Ricoh, Texas Instruments and Conexant.
    2. Your system manufacturer didn't even see fit to support your laptop with Vista drivers.

The thing is not every older system has hardware that will work with 64bit OS. This is why windows came up with the windows update advisor, so you can see potential problems before you update. Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor - Download - Microsoft Windows

Sorry we couldn't help you with this issue. But you might want to try PMing member FZ21Z he's who I conceder the foremost Sony Laptop Guru.

Here is a Sony 64bit drivers link at the bottom of his sig. http://www.vaio-link.com/computing/v...x.aspx?l=en_GB Good luck. Fabe

Thank you thefabe. The manufacturer is Ricoh. Anyway, my system is running 32bit smoothly as in 64bit, at least not noticeably. No need to spend much more time on this.
