Windows 7: The ieee1394 pain again...

Still plagued by my i-link Sony camera and firewire Iomega external hdd not being recognized on my Windows 7 computer.
Tried different drivers (15 or so present in Windows 7 incl. some not advised by MS, like Sony drivers, nothing works.
Been reading a lot of forum talk all over the web.
The camcorder shows DV-OUT allright, but is nevertheless not detected by Sony Vegas nor any other capture soft I tried.
Even bought some expensive i link cables.
The HDD is just not seen by Windows.
My other e-hdd (eSATA) hdd works in Windows 7, but although it's in the bios, it's not detected by any recovery disc.
But that's another matter.



Wife is getting a bit p*ssed: clever husband not being able to transfer six holiday tapes to the pc...other than by usb which looks like sh*t.

Anyone got some consolation handy?
