Mackie Spike soundcard driver

Hi,
Basically my problem is that i have an external sound card which doesn't have any drivers for Windows 7 (or Vista for that matter). I have been in touch with Mackie and they say that there are no plans to develop new drivers. Now I have gotten the basic features of the product to work by using Windows XP compatibility mode. However, i can't install the plug and play drivers which means that there are several features which I am still unable to use. Is there anything I can do to get these plug and play drivers to work? (apart from double booting with XP)

Hi rocklobster: I am in an <identical> fix! I ebayed the Mackie XD2 late last year - before realising the XP legacy driver was all that ever came into being :-/

Having seen the apps running okay in XP Mode under Windows 7/64, I too was mortified by the lack of drivers for any later platform. I agree that the hardware is excellent and that it's a travesty that - for want of a driver - this unit can only work as a phallic and classy basic standalone external 48 kHz souncard.

Did you manage to get anywhere with Virtual Machine cobbling of drivers to get the internal effects etc of the Spike to operate? ....... pretty-please?......

Cheers,

Pete (UK)
