webcam does not work after installing windows 7

    Hello,
I've done everything that I could do to re install my webcam back after my brother installed windows 7 for me but nothing works..
I've been reading and looking for drivers for the past month and i've come to the conclusion that there's nothing to do.
If someone could prove me wrong ?

Please post the make and model of the webcam you are having trouble with. How is it connected to your Windows 7 computer? USB? Have you looked at Device Manager to see if it recommends further action? Has Windows Action Center prompted you about a driver for your webcam? I'm sure we can get it working. We are the foremost authority on Windows 7 anywhere -- except *maybe* Microsoft

Yes. In most cases any Vista driver will work on Windows 7 without having to use compatibility mode,

    Compatibility Mode

to install them. Even some XP drivers depending on the hardware can be used, only in most cases they do need to be installed using compatibility mode.

dv6000 is not the specific model, just the series. I have dv6519tx and my camera works in win7 with no drivers installed perfectly fine. what specific model laptop do you have?
