epson printer driver 64 bit problem

    Hi
im trying to find an epson stylus photo R300 driver for 64 bit. My dau and son in law's pc is a new one with WIN7 pre installed - they
have the printer showing up in the add printers section, but
when trying to set as default, an error code comes up:
print error 0x00000709 check printer name,

I have made sure it is set on USB connection and not LPT.

In case it is still trying to use win xp driver (which i think he installed from CD) i looked at epson site, but website only comes up with bluetooth for Nokia SIS drivers when entering x64 search, but no explanation about these!

Cant work out why printer wont connect, looked at internet but cant find a solution. No doubt it will be something simple....and yes the cable is connected!!!
is it likely that theres a WIN 7 compatibility issue and theyll have to change printers?

    any help appreciated!

Uninstall the printer driver software on the other computers on the network. The driver still sees a printer with the same name installed on the network. Likely they still have an XP computer with the printer drivers installed.
