I can only go from info you provide - read like you only had a go at DVD filters!
Is this a brand new install of Windows 7 64bit and you are retro installinging the drive?
R.U Aware that - Hard drives Only plugged into the (4?) Intel sata sockets or dvd/other items won't work (properly) on 'G' sata!
This works most times but is drastic!
In "device manager" > 'system devices'
This forces Windows to redetect majority of it's drivers
Let Win 7 reinstall/download most of it's drivers from the internet - make sure it is connected
Try resetting your Cmos on the motherboard pins - see if system will see the DVD after! Make sure you enter correct date back into the bios before starting Windows 7 back up! Leave other bios settings untouched as far as possible.
