    W7 build 7000 driver install

There has, so far, been no issues with drivers for 7000 for the Acer 5920gmi that I use. To disable my touchpad I installed the Synaptics driver just to disable the touchpad.

All drivers installed during installation and on first update the rest were installed.

    It is a perfect scenario.

So the whole process has been pretty painless, way to go man.

Only issue I still have is the SM Bus Controller. It doesn't have or need a driver according to Vista, but shows up as Other devices in seven and says not working no driver installed. Tried the action center troubleshooter and it said it was installing the driver, but then stopped one of the intel USB controllers. When I went to device manager the SM bus was still had a warning symbol and so did the USB controller. Rebooted and got the USB controller back, but still a no go on the SM Bus Controller.

Other than that, no probs so far.

Try downloading the Intel .inf for your Mobo. That could resolve the issue

Now that this is a lot more stable, I am dumping all the stuff I have on the laptop, shrinking the partition, and then installing W7 on the TabletPC lappy - and seeing how well *those* drivers do there.

If all goes well, then I am going to have one snazzy zippy lappy.
