XBox 360 PC Wireless Gaming Receiver

I just bought a Wireless Gaming Receiver and the disc included was broken. The device appears to work, but I don't have a driver for it. It says on the package that it is compatible with Windows 7, but I cannot find a driver download online. Does anyone know where I could get one? Thanks.

Hello johnrgoforth and welcome to the forums.

Microsoft Gaming Hardware - Download Software

Try the link above, that is where i got mine from.

FYI - If you ever have to do a full re-install of windows (for whatever reason) leave the reciever pugged in and it will install automatically.

I don't think that has a driver. I installed the program, but it doesn't seem to help.

That link takes me to a program called Microsoft XBox 360 Accessories Status. It's a program that seems to monitor the status of XBox 360 controllers with the PC. I have a regular XBox 360 controller and a Wireless Gaming Receiver that is supposed to interface it with the PC. But I have no driver for the Wireless Gaming Receiver, so my PC doesn't recognize what it is, and so I can't interface my controller with the PC.

Ahh, I appear to have gotten it working. I didn't realize there was a different button on the controller to connect it to the receiver. Thanks for you help, Lucky!

Right, go into device manager and check under 'Human Interface Devices' for anything with a yellow triangle, if there is, right click it and uninstall.

Unplug the reciever, and run the program i said to install (this is both for status and the device, believe me, look in my system specs below and you will see i have the reciever too).

Once the software is installed, plug in the reciever again and then hold the xbox button down on the controller until it lights up. Press the button on the reciever and then the button on the back of the controller, between the two shoulders button (Left and Right).

That should then have the controller working.

I still can't seem to get it working. I have the exact same problem as he stated. I'm on a 64 bit Windows 7 Acer laptop. I installed the Windows 7 64 bit driver from the Microsoft website and it just seems to run this program showing the connections of the controllers, but no controllers connect to it. I press both wireless receiver buttons on the receiver and controller and they find each other, but the controller just continues to blink and never finishes connecting.

Whenever I turn on the computer it says that the device is not recognized even after installing the driver from the link above

I have the same issue. I found that it can work on Win7 32bits if I intall the driver information contained in the folder named "driver" on the driver CD ROM. but when I try the same driver install on the 64bits. the system refuse to goon the installation. So I am pretty sure that there should have a 64bits driver. the so called "Microsoft XBox 360 Accessories Status" is just a monitor software.
