Laptop Gateway P-6831fx drivers for Windows 7...

    Greetings!

I wanna to intall windows 7 in my laptop (Gateway P-6831FX 32bit Windows vista) but in the gateway page I can't find the drivers for Windows 7, so my question is... is it possible to upgrade my laptop from Vista to Seven even if the drivers r not provide by Gateway?

If is indeed possible where I can find them? anyone have the same problem? or any tip? I really appreciate

    Thanks!

Hi Angelusx999 And welcome to the forums , Win 7 should find the majority of the drivers straight "out of the box" for those it cant find ,use the Vista drivers in compat mode Compatibility Mode . It is a wisw idea to do a clean install of win 7 Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version that way no problems are carried over from the existing installation , If you need more help just post back

So, a clean install of windows 7 automatically detect the important drivers for my laptop? and for those drivers like the video chipset, webcam, etc. drivers for vista in compat mode should do the trick?

I have an HP laptop and when I install Windows 7 x64 on it, the drivers are automatically installed out of the box. All of them. Including webcam, graphics, I mean everything. You will be surprised at how well Windows 7 does with it's proprietary drivers. It would be a good idea to get the latest driver off the manufacturers website for certain things like your video chipset and I don't mean Gateway I mean Intel, ATI or nVidia.

    drivers

I got the same great laptop and updated to Windows 7 Professional 32 bit and noticed today that I cannot connect to my 2nd screen via HDMI. When I got screen resolution I would normally see the 3nd screen, but I don't anymore. It does not detect the 2nd screen. I also realized that I don't see my NVidia graphic card anymore either. Does this mean I have to install drivers? And where can I find them?

    Thanks.
