AMD Catalyst installed by its Install Mgr., and...that's it apparently
Windows 7, 64-bit. Catalyst reports that it installed inself fine. My question is, Then what?
It's not in the All Programs list. It's also not in the dropdown where my only choice is still "1. Generic PnP Monitor on Standard VGA Graphics Adapter." Under Device Manager, my only option is still "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter."
I want to use a Catalyst driver version 10.9 dated 9/15/2010 ostensibly written and optimized for my FireGL mobile chip on my ThinkPad T60P system board, not a year old Windows 7 VGA driver off the OS CD. And yet every time I try to do this, Update Driver Software, I'm given the reply:
The best driver software for your device is already installed
Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date.
Standard VGA Graphics Adapter
I don't know what the purpose of a Catalyst install manager is that doesn't install a driver, and doesn't give the user a way to. Just "install"s, whatever that means.
