So far even 9.1 has failed for my situation..
You should stick to the thread you started for this problem.

X1300 are older and are probably going to have some issues. Try installing the older catalyst 8.1 driver but DO NOT reboot after they are installed instead go to device manager and find the old drivers windows was using and try to remove those. Be careful not to remove the drivers you just installed (Catalyst 8.1) This will ensure you do not have conflicting drivers when windows reboots. After the older catalyst drivers are installed and the other drivers that might have caused problems are removed you can reboot and everything should work.

I'm glad I could help I read that people using older radeon cards were having trouble with newer drivers and that the 8.1 drivers were solving the issue.

The biggest thing to remember though is that once you install the 8.1 drivers you can't reboot until you have any other drivers that may have been installed removed.

I also think it is a shame the X1950 pro isn't supported anymore!!!
I also tried a lot. Also this way did not work for me.
I deleted the drivers before installing 8.1 with hotfix, but he extracted them again I guess.
I have the powercolor X1950 AGP.

I've got a 1950 Pro AGP in my son's computer (my old one) and am about to install Windows 7 on it. I presume that we will be stuck with the MS stock driver that is included with Windows 7 (x86). Based on my read of this thread, is that correct? Thanks!
