boot\BCD Status: 0xc00000e9 unexpected I/O error
When booting my desktop computer I get a windows boot manager black screen with” File:\boot\BCD Status: 0xc00000e9 unexpected I/O error has occurred” message. If I boot to CD/DVD using my windows recovery disk and select keyboard US, I get two options: Restore using system image or use recovery tools. When I select system image and next, no image is found. When I select recovery tools, I am asked to choose an operating system. Now my problem is no operating system is listed. What can I do now to recover my system? My hardware has checked out ok and I suspect something in windows 7 has messed up. Any suggestions? In troubleshooting, I replaced the suspect hard drive, installed windows 7 and the computer works great. So how do I recover my original hard drive?
Update: Booting to installation disk and running startup repair results in Root cause found: The partition table does not have a valid system partition.
