New comer needs quick help people

    Salam And Hi Every one.
I am a uni student and need serious help as i have some pending work and no time so any help would be great and illl be very thankfull.
I started having issues with my windows 7 on my dell inspiron6400 like the mouse pad stopped working and finally the windows could not start i tried to do a system resotore but it did not work. Finally i downloaded windows 7 and made a bootable usb hard drive and installed it on my pc. I had to format the C: which still had the previous windows.
The problem is that the mouse is still not working even an external usb mouse is not working. Its not even detected. But a usb is detected. And the screen resolution is poor like an old version of an OS.
I am suspecting thatr all the drivers got washed when i formatted the C:
Does some one know what can help I really need help right now.

    Best,
    Haris

    Start with this:
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

If it does not work after several attempts, try a repair install.

To be honest, I am not sure what type of issue. SFC will correct file corruption and a repair install will correct any drivers or other corruption that is part of the original OS.

Just out of curiosity have you tried plugging the mouse into a different USB port?

The drivers might work but if moving from 1 port to another solves the issue then it normally indicates that the particular port has failed. Try plugging in another USB device into the previous port and see if you get any bad results.

Thank you every one for helping me out. i think i have fixed the resolution issue and i have tried playing some music so i think the drivers are working now. Just one more inportant thing.
The mouse is acting weirdly, when i connect it to a particular port it is detected and starts working but then stops responding and does not work any more, also, the buttons stop working at times, the click buttons, and i havee to use the touchpad buttons which work ok. #Could it mean that my external mouse is faulty and my touchpad is not working excpet for the touchpad keys
