Sony VAIO Card Reader Drivers

Hi All,

I just did a full strip and install of Windows7 onto my Sony VAIO laptop (VGN-FZ27G).
It is now running amazingly faster than before (as i only installed the basic drivers i need and ignored most of the proprietary Sony additional software).

My only issue is i cannot get the integrated SD Card/Memory stick reader to work. It comes up on Device Manager as a Mass Storage Controller, but no driver i can find for it works, even from the Sony websites.

Please help!!
Thanks
Sid

Welcome to SevenForums. You'll need to go to the Sony site and look up your model number>driver downloads and look for the card reader drivers should either be a Ricoh or Texas Instruments reader.

The Sony site refers you to China for support.Sony eSupport - Electronics So lets try this.
Go to device manager>right click on the device>properties>details tab>drop down menu>hardware id> Copy and Paste the hardware id string and we can find a driver that way. Please also let us know if your using 32 or 64bit Seven.

I personally don't recommend Third Party Driver apps. You should always go directly to the manufacturers site for your drivers.
@Zeplash nothing personal.
Thanks Fabe

VGN-SZ430N - Windows 7 Driver Update for Mass Storage

Hey Guys/Gals,

I have run into a little problem with trying to find a Windows 7 driver update for mass storage. I upgraded to Windows 7 and now my mass storage cannot be found. I have tried using the option of they have available for updating itself, but comes back saying driver cannot be found.

So I have Model: VGN-SZ430N --- Windows 7 (64 bit) ---

I have been to the Sony Website and put in my information about my model and then could not find any update for the driver on mass storage -- maybe im not looking under the correct one -- maybe someone can help me?

Anyhow i have found what Fabe posted (#3 Permalink) by listing my Hardware IDS -- hopefully someone can help me out --- would be much appreciated!
