    Xitel MD-Port DG2

its a Digial Optical audio output device via usb.
i connect it to many computers and it works fine.

i connected it today to an hp computer with HM57 chipset and it worked once
but since thin been giving me "code 10, device cannot start"
i tried several chipsets from older to newer, tried to search windows update - nothing.

found no drivers on the net, but this device recognized immidetly in all other computers.

have another hp laptop with same chipset and its the same, code 10.

i uninstalled the USB enhanced controllers, restarted and connected - worked once but after restart its the same. after i installed a new chipset and restarted it was ok until next restart and its off to code 10 again.

any suggestions? this device works in many computers. seem to have a problem with this specific chipset...
the laptops are running windows 7 ultimate 32BIT.

    Shalom,

It is probably a port conflict with both HPs.

    At the Start, type MSCONFIG

go to the STARTUP tab and uncheck items.

Let's see if this solves the conflict. If yes, then add STARTUP items back one at a time.

Just got the MD-PORT DG2 to work in Windows 10 x86, the 32bit version.
Had to extract usbaudio.sys from Windows XP x86 SP3, then overwrite the usbaudio.sys in Windows 10 Windows\System32\Drivers. The yellow caution icon is finally gone from the MD-Port DG2 listing in Device manager. It sounds so much better than the headphone jack on the laptop.
I tried extracting the usbaudio.sys from Windows XP x64, but there doesn't seem to be one in the ISO.
The built in usbaudio.sys doesn't work. Not in Windows 10 x64, Windows 10 x86, Windows 7 x64, nor Windows 7 x86. It has to be the usbaudio.sys from Windows XP x86.

I don't know if it will help, but look at questions 2 and 3 here-
