A default/generic driver doesn't always work, and depends heaviliy on the chipset used in the device. Generic drivers are also in many cases is highly limited in capabilities, which is why I always recommend going to the manufacturer website.

Question: Are you looking for the driver of a plug-in network card, or the on-board network for your motherboard?

OT: Which part of South Africa are you from?

No default driver. You will have to get the driver for the brand of hardware on each motherboard.

Can't find any drivers for NF8. You click on NF8 on the Abit site it brings up NF3. Nvidia and a Gigabyte version. NF8 and NF8V

R8550-128CDT Abit search- No data found. Google search only your post is listed.

    For that motherboard,

Universal abit > Motherboard, Digital Speakers, iDome, AirPace, Multimedia

with its NF3 chipset on it you can pretty much forget about anything past XP as Nvidia never made any drivers for it. You might get lucky with the onboard ethernet if you can find out who made the chip that was used (Realtek, Marvell, etc), and hope that the reference driver will work on it.

As far as the video card goes pretty sure that is a typo and should be R9550-128CDT,

Universal abit > Motherboard, Digital Speakers, iDome, AirPace, Multimedia

of which there is a driver for it that will work in Windows 7,

    ATI Catalyst

but unfortunately it comes back to that NF3 chipset, only this time it is the lack of a working AGP/GART driver. At best you might get the XP driver for it to install, but I don't think I have seen anyone that was successful running an AGP card with a NF3 chipset in Windows 7.

since it is an nvidia chipset, you could try the auto-detect utility on their website. maybe something will turn up. if that machine isnt running, obviously you would have to search manually. hopefully one ofe the nforce drivers will work.

    Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers

i also found a picture of the ethernet chip, but i couldnt read the numbers:

    Abit NF8 nVidia Socket 754 ATX Motherboard / Audio / AGP 8X / Gigabit LAN / USB 2.0 & Firewire / Serial ATA / RAID at TigerDirect.com

nv raid is for when you have more than one hard drive, usually set up either for performance (raid 0) or redundancy (raid 1).

so the ethernet driver wasnt included in the nforce package?
