nollerd, have you got your Audio working as opposed to the Windows default of Microsoft High Definition Audio Device? i have read through your walkthroughs with pebbly and it was excellent (so knowledgable, pebbly). i have not dealt with the camera or mass storage device, or any of those peripherals because i won't be using them, but everything else has installed and is working great.

what i'm trying to get out of this laptop is to hook it up to my tv to watch movies through, and i have tested the connection last night and the video looks amazing on my tv, but i cannot get my sound to trasmit through. i know most people in this situation will tell you to make sure that, on the computer, you make it play off the tv through some settings. i don't think i can do this because of its generic driver installed.

when i tried to install the SigmaTel High Definition Audio codec from SONY's site, it gives me a pop after while of installing saying that "there is already an instance of this installation running" and when i reset the computer, the installation starts up again, automatically, with the SigamaTel logo and then throws an error saying i can't run this. if you want me to i can re-create the error, but if anyone can help me, or if nollerd figured this out, i'd greatly appreciate it. (i know i'm bumping an old thread, please forgive)

    The fix

Extract all the files from the driver install from Nvidia's site 179.48 for the Geforce Go 7400. Find NVIA.inf and edit, replace the string PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_01D8&SUBSYS_46051961 with PCI\VEN_104C&DEV_803B&SUBSYS_81FD104D. Go to Device Manager, update Display adapter, manually install the driver and select this file. You will see the driver listed and install. You will get a warning that the driver is not digitally signed but that is ok. After complete....reboot.

Finally found webcam driver at driveridentifier.com. I am attaching the zip file that I downloaded. It contains more than the driver for the cam for the AR320E (which incidentally is the VCC4(FE) for the PID 1836 - see the oku_read_me.txt file). I installed this driver on my AR320E and it worked perfectly.

WTF!!! Forum won't let me upload because of 8 MB cap. Zip file is just under 8.5 MB. Ok. Used 7zip to compress into 7z file which is now 1.65 MB. Amazing bcuz unzipped size is over 27 MB. Attaching again. FFFFF. Invalid file. WTF. Is this forum TRYING to keep me from helping??? I'm about ready to give up. I am going to rename the file to .zip and try upload again. It appears to have taken it. If you download this zip, rename the .zip to .7z and use 7zip to extract it. AND SOMEBODY (admin) FIX THIS UPLOADING PROBLEM!!!
