    Basic driver question

Biostar does not supply drivers for the TF-7025 mb for Win 7. I assume the mb drivers for Vista will work. Correct?

I do have an Win 7 Nvidia driver for the onboard video. That being the case, should I skip the installation of the Vista onboard VGA driver and go straight to the installation of the Nvidia driver? Or install both?

    thanks,

Hi pulpwood007,Welcome to the forums ,You are correct about the Vista drivers , you may have to install some or all in compat mode Compatibility Mode ,you should be OK with the Nvidia driver

I would skip the onboard if you have an external GPU installed. Less chance of conflicting drivers

You don't say whether 32 or 64 bit but you can just get the motherboard/chipset driver straight from Nvidia (that and anything from Biostar is nothing more than the Nvidia drivers anyway),

    32 bit - NVIDIA DRIVERS 15.49 WHQL

    64 bit - NVIDIA DRIVERS 15.49 WHQL

If using the onboard Realtek audio you can find links to the latest driver for that here,

Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version

and if using the onboard Realtek ethernet you can get the driver for it from Realtek as well.

Thanks greatly for the quick replys. Just the info I needed.

I will be installing Win7 Professional 32 bit version. I will be using the onboard video as I don't run any video intensive apps.

I found the 15.49 WHQL and that looks like the drivers I need. I also found the latest version 260.99 video driver. Won't I need to install it in addition to the 15.49 WHQL? If so, does it make any difference which I install first?

pulpwood007, If you are only using the onboard video, check to see what the onboard graphic chip manufacturer is and install their drivers
edit..... use the 260.99 drivers heres mobo info http://www.biostar-usa.com/mbdetails...ce%20TF7025-M2 :)

    Chipset is Nvidia GeForce 7025/NF630a.

See above post. What I'm asking is do I install both the 15.49 WHQL and the 260.99 drivers??

Or not. There won't be much of anything to gain from installing the latest driver for the video, as it is more geared towards the latest cards. But if you do install it, it goes on after installing the chipset drivers (actually you can do a custom install and leave off the included video driver and just install the latest if you so choose).

The Windows 7 DVD includes drivers for a surprisingly large number of hardware combinations. Given your chipset, which is similar to mine (see my specs), you should be able to install Windows 7 without the need for the other drivers. Indeed, the only drivers I install are the keyboard/mouse/audio/graphics ones.

If you do decide to install the motherboard drivers, then the correct installation order is as follows: Firstly, Windows 7 itself (and storage drivers, if required). Secondly, any Service Pack(s). Thirdly, motherboard drivers. Fourthly, keyboard/mouse/audio/graphics drivers.
