Hi All,
I am putting a new thread as I did not get any help with a note I put on another one, thought a new one might be a better help as I am at the end of my attempts to fix an issue!
I have an old/esh PC an ASUS Pundit-R with built-in network card, soundcard, graphics card and memory card reader
Specification:
Motherboard - P4R8L motherboard
Network card - 3C920B-EMB-WNM
Soundcard - SoundMAX
Card reader - ENE CB710/720
I had the machine working just fine with windows vista/7 until recently when I had a hard drive issue and the system got wiped out, I have since then tried to reinstall the OS with both Vista and 7 but having the same issue, the issue is that windows both vista and 7 does not recognize the network card nor the card reader, the device manager does not show any of them, it is as if they do not exsist on the system but I know they do and work fine as everything works perfectly fine when I install windows XP!
I have attempted to following:
- Install fresh windows vista and 7 à did not work, OS does not with not recognising the missing devices
- Install xp, update all the drivers and then upgrade to Vista à did not work, same issue with not recognising the devices
- Install different versions of xp drivers under vista and 7, errors prevent the drivers from install in the majority of the cases
I have this feeling that I am missing a bus driver that connects the network and card reader and that is what is preventing the system from recognizing them.
Has any one of you been successfully able to install win vista or 7 on the system above? If yes can you help with the steps or special tricks?
Thanks
