Laptop Touch Pad Not Functioning Correctly
Having an odd problem with my laptop (Dell 1440). I recently noticed that my laptop touch pad had stopped working within Windows 7, yet the external mouse I had attached still did. However, it's odd because I also have windows XP dual booted on my machine along with my Windows 7 installation, and the same touch pad driver still functions correctly within XP. So, what I did is attempt to uninstall the Alps touch pad driver and reinstall it. After uninstalling it, I noticed that the driver that was installed by default within Windows 7, works just fine. However, after reinstalling the Alps touch pad driver from the Dell website, my touch pad stops working once again. Does anyone know why my computer is exhibiting this behavior, and if so, what can I do to fix it?
Thanks,
Mike
