    [help]My laptop didn't recognize my printer


    My windows is windows 7 pro x64. My printer is HP Laserjet P2015d. When i plug usb cable in, windows recognize it as Unknown Device. Can someone help me?

    You need to install the software that came bundled with your printer. If that version doesn't support windows 7 you will have to go to the HP support page for your printer, and download the correct driver.

    Hi boluclac, welcome to the forums, when installing USB printers always remember to install the software first and when it tells you to plug the usb in do so only at that time, not before, that is the only way to do it :)

    That is especially true with HP printers. If I don't unplug the USB cable to my HP all in one, even if its turned off, the driver install fails and I have to start all over again.

    thanks for all advices, but it still do nothing. I downloaded driver from hp website. But when i installed driver, still failed. Can someone help me? my printer is hp laserjet p2015d. OS windows 7 64-bit

    My older Dell printer I used with XP didn't work with Win7. After a fair amount of Googling I found I needed to run a exe that found and removed all traces of the printer program and drivers. I then needed to install the Vista drivers.
