Basically most
drivers go over the older ones unless the manufacturer states you should unload the previous
driver. Some Wizards actually do remove the older
driver before loading the newer one. The ones that are often needing to be removed are ATi and nVidia video
drivers although even this is not always the case. The best way to remove a
driver would be to do it in Control Panel under the Device Manager then uninstall driver, if you have CCleaner loaded on your PC you could run it to clean any vestige of the driver then run the appropriate Wizard and life in the fast lane returns in your Windows 7 experience.
