    Older computer running Windows 7.

I installed Windows 7 on my aunt's P4A 2.8 GHz PC with 768 MB RAM and a GeForce FX5200. It runs fairly well as of now, and all the apparent drivers are taken care of.

The computer is running on the 865PE chipset, for which I see no Windows 7 drivers. I know Windows 7 comes with some drivers to function on older hardware - I successfully used a Duron 800 with 512MB RAM and onboard video because of this once - but I don't know that the PC is performing optimally. Would installing XP drivers in compatibility mode be a wise choice?

The PE version of the chip has drivers for the Matrix Storage and the Software installation Utility which were updated June 2009 there are no graphics updates for you though, you should be good with Vista compatibility given the driver update time frame they can be found at Intel® 865 Chipset Family - Chipset information and downloads
