Firewire Drivers

I bought this 120 gig drive and it has firewire 400 on it an my computer has the same so I plug it in and find out windows 7 does not have support for it can anyone help me here. The port is 1394a port.

win 7 does support 1394 it just needs a driver for the particular device. google win 7 and 1394 support then google the HD mfr for the driver.

From what I can tell from the whitepaper from Microsoft it does support it but it does not support my Maxtor onetouch drive.

Also should I update my chipset drivers to get firewire working because it is on my chipset.

Firewire 400 works, but not FW 800
