    DVD-Super Multi device driver missing

    Hello!

    I have a Gateway NV53 64bit running Windows 7
    AMD Athlon II X2 M300
    500 GB HDD
    4 GB Memory
    DVD-Super Multi DL drive

Suddenly, my dvd/cd drive stopped working. It doesn't start to spin or recognize a disc when it's put in the drive.

I tried to troubleshoot the device & it says

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

    Driver Version: 6.1.7600.16385
    Driver Date: 06/21/2006

It offers no solution to fix this problem. I cannot watch a dvd, listen to a cd, or even burn my photos to a cd for family members. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sgmabe78, welcome to the Seven Forums.

    Try the auto fix here,

Your CD or DVD drive can't read or write media

Let us know if that fixes it or not, and if not we'll try something else.

Fix it did not work. It says it applied the fix, but it still detects an error it cannot fix.
