    I do not have any previous versions of the software, the only thing that is installed is the drivers that Windows 7 auto-installed. :)

    Tried Vista Compatibility mode as Admin, it still is unable to start the services. I even tried to extract the base install file and set the compatibility mode on every single exe that was inside of it.

    How do I install the 11.9 QuickCam software? I tried the updater, but it does nothing. I have Win7 x64.
    Thanks

    FOR ALL QuickCam Products:

    If you can't install your web-camera in Windows 7, than:

    i) First install QuickCam Software (any version);
    ii) After you install QuickCam Software you may find folder (for example: "QuickCam_11.80.1065") with unpacked QuickCam installation files in "TEMP" folder (...\AppData\Local\Temp\);
    iii) there you will find ..\Drivers\x32\PRO5\.. - there are web-cam drivers inside (*.INF files);

    1) Now go to "Device Manager"
    2) find your "Unidentified Device" and choose "Update Driver Software" in context menu -> new window titled "Update Driver Software - ..."
    will appear;
    3) select "Browse my computer for driver..." (for "How do you want to search... ?");
    4) select "Let me pick from a list..." (for "Browse for Driver...");
    5) press "Have disk..." button;
    6) browse for web-cam drivers (...\AppData\Loca\Temp\QuickCam_11.80.1065\Drivers\x32\PRO5\..) and pick one of the *.INF files (for example: lvPRO5c.inf);
    7) Find your web-cam model in the list appeared;
    8) Voila! Your camera is working...

    All Logitech web-cam drivers will now be listed in your Windows 7.

    You may find a list of "which models are supported by which QuickCam Software version" here:
    *** QuickCam 11.0.0.1218/11.1.0.2030/11.5.0.1169/11.8.0.1065/11.9.0.1263 - Issues and Solutions *** - Webcams - Logitech Forums

    I would recommend instead following the directions I posted in the other thread regarding this problem, since the directions above, while they do install the drivers, do not actually install the software.

    Step one: Unplug your camera.
    Step two: Download the Vista x64 drivers from here.
    Step three: Right click on the drivers, set the compatibility mode to Vista, and run as Administrator.
    Step four: Install these drivers, making sure to uncheck the download updates.
    Step five: Allow them to reboot the PC. You will now have an older version of the drivers running. Plug in your camera, and click skip if it is on a step trying to find it, since it wont. Step up the camera.
    Step six: unplug the camera and right click on the Quickcam software and choose to update it.
    Step seven: proceed to the update, and after it looks like the process is stalled bring up task manager with CTRL+ALT+DEL.
    Step eight.: Kill LVpRS64h.exe as well as the other logitech service.
    This will allow the installer to finish, it has an issue stopping the service properly on its own.

    So that is the main problem that needs to be addressed by Logitech. Their installer currently is unable to properly stop or kill the running service, so it halts the installation. If you do it manually it will continue without a problem.

    Done. You now have the latest version of the Quickcam Pro software running on Windows 7 x64 build 7000.

    I successfully installed the software on Windows 7 x64, but most of the options are grayed out so I can not adjust framerate/exposure/etc

    Pretty worthless

    Has anyone actually gotten these options working in x64?

    My driver date from device manager is listed at: 7/26/2008

    Following the directions I provided I have all options available. :)

    My version is the exact same as yours.

    If it is not working for you, try to uninstall and start over.

    I have UAC disabled on my system, so I am not sure if that has anything to do with it. The only thing that is not working for me right now are the special video effects. They were working initially, but got corrupted somehow. From searching though the problem I am seeing is not specific to Windows 7.

    A reboot was needed to get everything to work.

    Is QuickCam Pro 9000 a no-go for 64-bit?

    So is the consensus from this string that the 9000 model will simply not work on Win7 64-bit? I've seen a number of comments here about the 32 bit working, but not 64-bit.

    I just got it (the 9000 model), am on 64-bit, and like others am not able to use it. Device Manager says the driver's installed okay, but I can't install the software from the disk. I copied the disk files to my hard drive, switched the setup.exe file's compatibility mode to Vista. It executes, but I'm then told again that the device is incompatible with this version of Windows.

    Any help?

    Thanks,

    Dan

    Hey there Dan, not at all, it works fine, you just need to follow the directions I posted a few posts back that tells you how to get it working.

    Halaster,

    While your method didn't exactly work for me, I eventually got it.

    After disconnecting the cam and rebooting my computer. I hit "update" like you said. This time, instead of failing it actually brought up the installer and at the "plug in cam" screen I plugged it in and it detected it. The rest of the install continued correctly and it worked fine without ending any tasks.

    Thanks!
