DriverMax  

Drivers, for me, are 'technical ground'. So some advice required please. :)

First question is, why update a driver which is not (noticeably) giving problems?
Next, how safe is it to do 'recommended' updates?

I just ran DriverMax on my system. Here are the results...

Hi Irene.. If your drivers are not having a problem, there is no rule that you have to update them.. It is perfectly safe to install "recommended" updates. As far as programs like DriverMax, I avoid them.... if I need to update a driver I always go to the manufacturers website and get the drivers from there...

Thank you, Tews, for your prompt reply.

I only used DriverMax because I know no better! - I presumed that the updates would be from the manufacturer.
To be honest, I wouldn't know if or when a driver needs updating. I think I will leave well alone.

Hi Irene , I agree with Tews , if the PC is fine and you are not having problems leave it as it is , Too many people subscribe to " a new update is out I gotta have it " brigade , some of the drivers I'm using are way out of date , my PC works fine for me so why spoil it !! as Tews states use the manf for updates not the driver finder progs :)
