HELP!! W7 Home Premium and intel network adapter

Hi, im a newbie to W7. Just done a (Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit) clean install on my PC. i was using WXP Professional.

    PC SPEC

    motherboard:
    Intel Desktop Board DP965LT

    LAN:
Gigabit (10/100/1000 Mbits/sec) LAN subsystem using the Intel® 82566DC Gigabit Ethernet Controller

there is no internet connection at the moment..
I have been trying to update all the drivers from Device Manager. and everything seems ok except my Network adapter and my PCI simple communication controller. there is a (!) symbol on both the icons.

I have looked at the forum and knew other people had the similar problems. i tried all sort of solution..I have tried the WinPro32.exe driver..and WinPro732.exe
    and the problem still appearing..
    and ideas?
I am considering reinstall my Windows XP Pro and then update all my drivers, get everything working ..then do an upgrade to W7 instead of doing clean install.. will that work??
    any suggestion will appreciate !!
    thanks!

Desktop Boards — Supported operating systems

If you go to this web page the DP965LT is not supported for Windows 7.

So you will need to use the Vista drivers for your LAN. Direct from Intel. There are two listed use the top 32bit version.

Install as would any driver. Unzip if a zip file and then double click to open and start install.

    Start with that one.
I'll see If I can find the PCI.

Same as above on the install.

If you have a problem with install post and let us know.

I've got a similar unsupported Intel board (DG965RY) and have had that "PCI simple communication controller" error since the moment I installed Windows 7. It's well known and quite common.

I have not noticed a single issue because of the error, so I continue to ignore it.

I read some discussion of what it meant (on this forum most likely), but I can't recall the details and won't worry about it until and unless the error has a practical consequence. I'm obsessive, but not quite hopelessly so.

    Thanks for the input.

Sounds like you will be fine except the error marker might stay on the PCI but ignatz has it working otherwise.

The drivers I linked to are the latest available.

The good thing about Win 7 is Vista drivers work as good as the Win7's most of the time if no Win 7 drivers are available.
