Tried the ACHI tutorial but couldn't see anything on set up (F2 on boot up) that needed changing and it still fails to install PCI Memory Controller

Everything else seems to work so its just annoying that it searches for drivers everytime I turn it on. Can I turn it off, what would I lose? Or maybe I lose nothing as it can't find the drivers anyway??
If it does not work, you'll only lost the ability of "Ready Boost" on that Mini Pci-E slot...you should still have the ready boost on the SD Card slot...

You can turn it off the time to find a solution. Might be a defect card on the mini-Pci-E slot.

You should be able to lift the keyboard of the laptop gently to have a look if it well inserted inside the mini Pci-E slot...

The both drivers 8.9.0.1023 you downloaded previously are the right one again...

    Hi Graemzy,

That link looks like downloads I'm after but the chipset downloads are for XP or Vista. Which one did you use for Windows 7?

    Thanks
    Jim
Sorry i should of said, i was workin on a different machine and it was xp but you can pick win 7 from the drop down box on the top right.

there is a box sayin Operating System:

just click the drop down arrow and pick win7 home premium 32 bit!

it might not work but its worth a shot!

before ya install it make a restore point but win 7 should do it anyway.

if you right click computer, then advanced system settings from the left, then click the system protection tab, in that tab at the bottom click on create to make a restore point. name it and click creat again!

ya shouldn't even have to do it because if its the wrong driver it just wont work but i always do just to be safe! just name it anything but restore point!

Is will run fine but I've just upgraded to 7 Home Premium and it fails to install the PCI Memory Controller driver. Did you encounter that problem?? Help Newbie please!
You can update your drivers from here:
Acer Support - Drivers & Support Documents
Try the download Hardware Vender Detection Utility, from the link above.

Looks like the downloads Graemzy pointed me to has worked. The dropdown list didn't seem to refresh the page i.e. there were still only xp and Vista chipset downloads but since re-booting the error message has not returned so looks like its solved it (or an auto Windows Update solved it without me knowing!).

Either way THANKS FOR YOUR HELP GUYS MUCH APPRECIATED!!

Appreciate this is an old post but for anyone else searching, much like myself for the last half hour or so then you should install the Intel Turbo Driver for Windows 7 INVM110CD.exe.

Located here from the Intel website: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det...18011&lang=eng

32.56mb one, this one worked for me perfectly.
