Dear nitroman 84,
Top-notch tip, if i may say so! 1)HD erased.
2) Partitioned the internal HD into 4.
The OS grabs 100MB and that's the first one. C,D and E are the other ones.
3)Quick-formatted the lettered partitions (you better, before filling up the empty spaces!). The dictum here is "NEVER LEAVE ANY SPACE AS "UNALLOCATED" (Pardons for the bold type) A bit off-topic, there is a school of thought which believes that the majority of the populace (those who can) will fill up empty spaces at home and work-place,if given a choice! Now, we can add HDs to the list.
4) The Seven downloaded drivers helped a lot with,A) Audio,B) Video,C) Internet,D) network(LAN)and lastly E)To upgrade the BIOS! I strongly recommend my friends here to try as far as possible to download these drivers from the (MOTHERBOARD)manufacturer's site! The reason being, all my fav. Rootkits entered along with drivers downloaded from third party driver download sites!
In the Google search bar i typed (verbatim) "download compatible Windows 7 drivers for intel DG35EC 32 bits" and i could easily narrow down the results to 7 drivers.
It was not for nothing that i mentioned the protection i have on the Desktop. They are the minimum required ones! Instead of Avast Internet Sec.Suite, you may go for the plain " Avast free AV", because v.v. surprisingly in the November issue of AV COMPARATIVES PRO-ACTIVE AV STUDY, Avast entered only it's free version(correct me!) and the pro-active ,I.E,"stop at the gate" ability of a free AV like Avast was mind-blowing, leaving me without a mind!
Site to download the free Avast :
avast! Free Antivirus - Download Software for Virus Protection
So, now i have to go and change my specs to Win.7 Ultimate 32 bit. Thank you nitroman 84, you have been of great help and thus duly rewarded!
Regards,
