Lexmark c500 for Windows 7 64 bit

I just bought a new desktop with Windows 7 Home Premium and need a driver for the Lexmark c500 color Laser. Lexmark doesn't have them and says that it is not compatible. I assume or hope there is some workaround. I read a post which recommended using a Vista 64 bit driver, but I can't find one. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Also if i remember correctly with the Lexmark printers you'll need to start the installation then when prompted insert the USB cable.
Other than that follow Rich46"s suggestion of using compatibility mode either Vista or XP profession 64 bit drivers
Compatibility Mode

This is the Vista 64 bit driver for the C500/n driver http://support.lexmark.com/index?loc...rompage=null#2

Windows 7 x64 and windows xp home

Had the same issue could not print from windows 7 x64 to a lexmark c500 printer.

My solution was i downloaded the x64 vista driver.

http://downloads.lexmark.com/downloa...sta_x64_en.exe

this driver actually worked when i ran the printer as shared from a USB connection to a windows xp computer, shared the printer on the network, and used the 64 bit vista driver as the driver on my windows 7 x64 computer. Couldnt seem to get it to work directly with the usb to my windows 7 comp but hey i'll take what i can get!

Thank goodness, this link still works, and the driver works perfectly, except for ...

I'm out of toner.

To recap:

Lexmark c500 x64 vista driver is here:

http://downloads.lexmark.com/downloa...sta_x64_en.exe

Which makes the c500 work on Windows 7 x64.

The solutions to install Lexmark c500 to USB (laptop or PC), NOT in LAN:
1. Download Vista x64 driver: Lexmark - Page not found
2. Right click -> Run as administrator
3. It will "install" the driver... and you must chose WHERE to install the driver (c:/Lexmark/Vista - I think this is the folder where it will be installed)
4. An Wizard appears (you can close it, it doesn`t matter, will not work!!!)
AND THIS IS HOW YOU REALLY INSTALL:
5. click on Start->right click an Computer (My computer)-> Properties.
6. on the left you have: DEVICE MANAGER. Click on it
7. in that list you have something like: Unknown Device (click on it) and you will find LEXMARK c500
8. right click on LEXMARK c500 -> and click on UPDATE DRIVER SOFTWARE
9. chose "BROWSE MY COMPUTER FOR DRIVER SOFTWARE", and chose the instalation folder (c:/Lexmark/Vista)!!!!!!!!!!!
10. this is all! now it will work!
