DarkPrince, welcome to the Seven Forums.

Would help to know which motherboard/chipset you have, as if there isn't a working AGP/GART driver (part of the chipset drivers) then the video card driver won't install and/or work properly.

Also is this the driver you used,

    AMD Catalyst

as the regular Catalyst driver won't work with the HD 2xxx. 3xxx and 4xxx series of AGP cards.

Yes, i tried that one too. My motherboard is an ASUS P4S800D-X with AGP slot for the video, CPU Intel Pentium 4 2.8 GHz

Motherboard has the SiS 655FX chipset on it, which hasn't seen an update in close to 6 years. That said start with going here,

    http://www.sis.com/download/download....php?id=155871

and download the "SiS AGP(GART) Driver". Before installing uninstall any ATI driver you have installed, then install the AGO/GART driver. Next run Windows Update and it should offer an update for the AGP driver, if it does install it. Now install the ATI AGP hotfix driver.

Try changing the AGP Aperture size in BIOS and see if different settings work for you.

Windows 7 drivers are really bad. I have had a lot of troubles to get it working. From my 3com etherlink pci nic not detected, to no sound on the tv card, scsi card not working or no mic and no gameport on the SB Audigy.

And there is one driver from Windows Update that causes us a lot of trouble. It is the "SIS Accelerated Graphics Port"

Do never let Win Update install that thing. I have a SIS 655TX and with that thing installed I can only use the default VGA adapter driver. Everytime I install the ATI drivers (like catalyst 11.5) it hangs on W7 splash screen with the HD light always on.

So install W7 from scratch. Install the latest ATI drivers before doing anything else. And only then the updates, except the SIS AGP mentioned above. I didn't need to install the AGP GART form SIS. I just use the universal one from W7 without updating it.

And create a system restore point before installing W7 SP1 because it will cause the same problem on boot. After install SP1, the system always hangs on splash screen. I'm unable to use W7 SP1.
