Hello, I've been trying to install and upgrade both my laptop and desktop to Windows 7
. I currently have Windows Vista 32-bit
for both. I'm having the most rediculous time trying to do this
. I have never upgraded before, but this by far is the most annoying thing I could expect to happen.
My desktop, will not read my Windows 7 disk period. The AutoPlay will not even pop up, and I've messed with the settings throug there trying to get it to work manually. No luck. I have no idea why, have been looking all over for a solution - it's an HP Pavillion. More importantly
, I got the disk to load and start the install on my laptop, but during the process it tells me I need to upgrade my "Keyboard Filter
" now to my understanding through looking all over google, this is a driver
- and apparently others who have certain versions of HP/Compaq have delt with this issue. I can't seem to find a straight answer or correct soloution to this problem.
My laptop is a Compaq Presario CQ60
. I have found out that I need "HP Quick Launch Buttons Keyboard Driver v188.8.131.52
" I already went to compaq.com
and a few other sites to to try and download ( the driver )/ resolve the issue, but see the problem is apparently anywhere I try to download it on the web; a notification pops up through internet explorer
with a red circled "X" saying "Internet explorer can not download from such and such site ( and I've tried many ) - Internet explorer was not able to open this internet site. The Requested site is either unavaiable or cannot be found. Please try again later"
. I've already lowered the internet explorer settings, and download options, deleted temp files and cookies - in attemp to fix this issue. I am at a loss, please help.
