Missing Base System Device and Coprocessor for HP Pavillion

I am missing three drivers in my device manager. They are listed under other drivers and when I look at the properties there is no information given as to what its for. The first two say base system device and the third one says coprocessor. None of them can be updated from the manager because it cannot find the drivers online. I believe the first two have to do with nvidea but everytime I try to download the driver it does not work. I have no idea if I am even on the right path. This is the last issue I am having from my windows 7 upgrade and would really appreciate any assistance.

Hello again. The base system device drivers refer to Ricoh card reader drivers, the coprocessor drivers are part of the chipset drivers.

Go to the HP support page, let it detect your model, it'll then show a page containing links to the drivers for your model. Download and install the ones I mentioned above. While you are at it, download the other drivers as well to take care of future problems.

You need to install the chipset drivers. Also there are no Windows 7 drivers for that chipset from HP as the chipset is made by Nvidia and they dropped support for it a long time ago. That said the Vista driver from HP,

should install, and make those go away. If it won't install then try running it again in compatibility mode,

Hello. When I go to the website, it only gives me links for Vista drivers because my computer is too old, HP does not support windows 7 on my model. Can I download those then go to device manager and update from there for windows 7?

Just download the vista drivers, then install them in compatibility mode. (See compatibility mode link in Stormy13's post).

Hello Stormy13, I seen your post right after I posted mine. I have previously read the compatibility thread before and understand the part about changing it to vista for the compatibilty part but how do I actually run it after that? Does it do it automatically? That thread confuses me the more I try to understand it

Set it to compatibility mode as shown, then just run it as normal. Actually while setting it to compatibility mode, follow #6 and set it to run as admin as well.

Okay, thank you everyone for all your help. With it, I was able to fix like three problems in less than an hour.

Your driver didn't solve the problem of the missing Base System Device?
but I've found a Dv6 Card Reader Driver download link that works for me!

Next missing unknown device is the Dv6 ENE CIR Driver and for any other HP drivers use win 7 update.

P.S. Make sure setup.exe compatibility option is tick to "Run this program as an administrator" ...
