    uninstalling a driver

Every time I go to Control Panel > Programs and Features and uninstall this driver . Windows 7 keeps telling me I have uninstalled it (it is a Samsung Mobile USB Modem 1.0 Software) and to restart .When I do this I see that it is still there in the Control Panel > Programs and Features.
I have repeated the process 3 or 4 times.
How can I resolve this? -is there a sytem restore facility in Windows7 that could help here?

The history , if it is relevant , is that I tried to install this program on Windows 7 when it was not compatible. As there were 2 sections to the installation process (the software and the usb driver) I attempted to install the driver and that seems to have been back to front.
As the installation was unsuccessful I intend to do a complete uininstallation followed by another installation , this time in WinXP compatibilty mode (finger crossed)
However I do need to uninstall the USB driver first and Windows (7) keeps telling me it was successful and yet won't remove the item from Control Panel > Programs and Features

    Try unistalling with Revo Uninstaller.

    thanks
But I have just done a system restore .When the computer came back I could not get into Windows Live (I got a lot of messages saying I needed administrative access although I thought I had this as I am the only user) .Also It said the Recycle Bin was corrupted and did I want to empty it (again it told me to click to get administrative permission- it works for me fine now anyway)
How can I have lost Windows Live ?
Do I have to undo system restore to get it again?

Well I have done (and undone) the restore. All sorts of problems attended the restore process. So then I installed Revo Uninstaller.
I uninstalled the driver but the same problem has reoccurred in that , after the restart , the driver is still sitting in Control Panel > Programs and Features.
    Wat about Device Manager?
Can I uninstall it from there? It is called Samsung Mobile USB Modem 1.0 Software when I find it in Control Panel > Programs and Features.
So where might it be in Device Manager?

From start menu you right click on my computer and choose properties

Then you will see device manager, just click it and it will sort all you devices

    Tell me if work

How do I find the area in Device Manager that is connected to the problem?

The program is sitting in Control Panel > Programs and Features and it is called Samsung Mobile USB Modem 1.0 Software but where exactly in Device Manager can I make changes that would allow me to uninstall this software?

I can see about 12 entries under Universal Serial Bus Controllers but which of these applies to the software that I need to remove?

Can I just delete them all and hope that windows will redetect them when it restarts?

Since the keyboard and the mouse are attached to the USB ports I don't want to disable them , do I?

yes that is what I tried first .It isn't called Add/Remove Programs though in Windows 7.
They call it Programs and Features .

When I do that I do get the message that it has been uninstalled but I don't think it really has because when I check to see if has disappeared from the programs it is still there (even after a restart).

I also used the program called Revo Uninstaller and that was also apparently successful but the program (or software ) remained in Programs and Features.

I even did a system restore and I think that was entirely successful (I think) but there were so many other problems (I lost the Windows Live email programme) that I undid the system restore.

thanks (I thought I had thought of that)
Well I have had a look around and there are one or two sub folders in the Samsung folder in Prog Files.
    One is called
    HSP_USB_Driver_2.6
    another is HSP_USB_Driver
    and they have uninstall applications.

I have clicked on them and they say the driver is removed but it doesn't work any better that before in that the software is still in Programs and Features after the restart.

In fact there are loads of different subfolders and there are probably a dozen or so different uninstall applications (there doesn't seem to be a head chief one..)

I do see one file called uninstall in the top level folder but it is an icon file.
Also there is an application of the program itself which I clicked on and it opened (but with errors)
