    Windows 7 Base System Drivers

I have a Toshiba A215-S7425 and I can't get my VGA output to work and I have 2 base system driver that cant update and I was wondering if one of them was for the VGA? If anybody can help me fix this problem it would be much appreciated.

Rosebud72490, welcome to the Seven Forums.

I would start with going here,

    Model Content Page

for the display driver. According to the specs for that model Toshiba you need the ATI driver.

For the "base system", at a guess I would say that they are likely the card reader and possibly the touchpad (or fingerprint reader if it came with one; guessing on this one due to there being a download for it). Can tell you for sure if you could provide the vendor and device ID's,

Well I fixed it and it was the card reader. But, My VGA output still wont work on my HD Flat screeen. I think it's a computability problem idk.

You installed the video card driver yet (ATI X1200 according to the spec sheet I read)? The one you need is the,

    AMD/ATI Display Driver for Windows 7 (32/64)(v8.593.100.5; 09-03-2009; 106.81M)

    from the Toshiba download section.

Sometimes it is necessary to manually uninstall the old drivers before installing the updated ones.

For ATI, select “ATI Catalyst Install Manager” and click on “Change”, then “Uninstall All Components”.

Restart the computer, let Windows discover the graphics card and install it's own driver, and restart when requested.

Once back on the desktop you can then install the driver package from the Toshiba website.
