corrupted drivers  

I have a computer where all the drivers are corrupted ive seen this on vista as well. Basically all the drivers are bad the sound the network and audio all have yellow exclamation points on them, Someone suggested replacing the Ndis.sys file and it fixed it for them. Is there any suggestions as to why its doing this, Is there an equivalent to an i386 folder in 7?

Theres no i386 folder in win7, XP was the last edition to have that folder. Now, all OS files are located in the winsxs folder.

Coming to your problem, are these stock drivers (that install by default with windows) or manually installed/updated drivers? Right click on each driver with the yellow exclamation and update the driver, choose search automatically so that it goes online and looks up for updated drivers. That is by far the easiest way.

The best way though is to go to the OEM's site (if this is an OEM computer) or the manufacturer's website, locate the drivers for your devices and download them and install them. E.g. Realtek's site if you have a realtek audio card, broadcomm if thats what your network card is etc.

There are other tricks in the driver install business, first try out the above.

Thanks for the fast reply, Ill try these out tonight. Ill post a screen shot of exactly how the drivers look, I think i did a SFC already i think, But ill run it again, I doubt it will fix it. This problem seems to be more major. I uninstalled all of them from the device manager but when they come back they come back with a yellow exclamation mark. its not hardware base cus i can load up ubuntu and everything works fine usb ports wireless everything. so i know this is a software base issue.

It's an HP dv4-2145Dx It came with windows 7 this is not an upgrade from vista to 7, I am trying to figure out how to post screens on here b/c i got no network connection from the laptop or usb access.

There's likely a much more serious issue though if several became corrupted at once.
It's also possible they were never there in the first place though. I have no idea what's really going on based on the information provided.

SFC came back clean with no errors or files repaired.
