i will be making a raid 1 setup with my barracuda 2x 1tb 7200.12`s and will be using the newest build of win-7x64 here in about an hr or so

do i need the ati raid drivers for the install, or does win7 work with out them and ill update them as soon as windows is installed?

currently backing up the 400gb of games and moves to another hdd, will take an hr or so

Depends - is the RAID built into the chipset on your motherboard or via a third party (PCI/PCI-e card) interface?

On the first, you should probably not need anything - but check your motherboard's website to be sure.

On the second, almost definitely, although there is some RAID card support built in, external drivers are usually much much better.

I believe so - but I'd check with your mobo manufacturer just to be sure.

you will need to have the floppy drive drivers. You know what i am talking about, and put that onto a USB thumb drive, than your set, WINDOWS will download your raid drivers for you. Well should, that's how it worked for me.

you won't notice the difference since you went with raid-1 and raid-1 is the back-up mode if i can remember. if you went raid-0 big difference. For me at least. raid-0 for c drive, D drive a 10k raptor 10k E,I, storage. so i feel the power.
