Nope that's not normal. But since you're not sure if it's checking for drivers, can you make a screenshot and show us what's going on? Or let us know what message(s) it gives you?

I had this happen with a M/S keyboard after downloading new drivers from M/S. It went away after about 3 restarts. I can't believe it took that may restarts to get the new drivers to install. My keyboard is wireless.

I have service pack one installed it would mean uninstalling doing the repair and downloading the service pack again, then there could be problems after the repair just not worth the risk of things that could go wrong.I hope to build another pc this year i7
