I would really like to fix this annoying problem.
a while back i had driver
corruption (original thread HERE)
The current problem is that I'm unable to use the equalizer on my audio card.
I am forced to "Disable all sound effects" in order to get any sound (including the driver's test sound) to play. The sound plays fine, but this disables my equalizer.
When i first built my PC everything was fine. but now, when i uninstall drivers
, reboot, and reinstall drivers from the MOBO CD it is either detecting the wrong one or there is some other issue i'm unaware of.
video: "ATI Radeon HD 4200"
Audio: "ATI High Definition Audio Device" and "RealTek High Definition Audio"
i am very certain that the ATI HD Audio device used to say "RealTek Digitial Audio" or something like that.
uninstalling and reinstalling drivers - or updating to the latest Vid/Aud drivers has not helped.
(for those people that intend to be helpful but don't know - there are instances where the video driver is actually responsible for the audio device, rather than the audio driver)
Any help you can give would be useful.
if you need any more information to help me with this problem then just let me know.
