    Aiptek HyperPen 6000

Hi all. After nice few hours of searching by myself I'm giving up and asking you for help ; )
Since it's the biggest Win 7 forum I hope some1 will be able to help me out.

I recently bought an Aiptek HyperPen 6000 tablet. I plugged the cables in, restarted and after windows booted up it popped up a window about installing drivers. It started with drivers for "tablet 6x4.5", but at finish it suddenly changes to "serial port mouse" (not sure if thats the English name... It sure has serial in it ; )). The tablet "works" as in it does move the cursor... but not the way it is supposed to. Without any pressure nothing happens, but with some pressure, when I move the pen, the cursor jump all over the screen and left/right click all the time like crazy. I downloaded the drivers from Aiptek site but after installing it's like they're not there at all. Just the folder it installed itself, but no apps from that folder would work except tblmouse.exe which... doesn't do anything.

I've sent this issue to Aiptek as well, but seeing the still have the copyrights at 2010 I feel that they don't update their site often... and probably don't check their e-mails neither...

If you need any more info, please ask away, Ill try to provide as much as I can.

    Thanks in advance ; )

PS. If the topic is in wrong place, please do replace it, thank you - to moderator ^ ^

Hi pokora, Welcome to the forums, you will get better results if you get a serial to usb connector ,download the usb drivers from Aiptek and install them in compatibility mode for XP www.aiptek.eu - Download Section these are for the Hyperpen 6000u but with the serial to usb connector will work on the 6000 ,good luck with getting every feature to work correctly as this tablet is a legacy model

Thought about it as well, but I wasn't sure as with this model it has 2 plugs, serial port and ps/2... If I put the serial through usb, will I have to put ps/2 in at all ? If so, through usb adapter as well, or the same ps/2 ? ^ ^

Thanks for the info anyway : )
If the pressure levels will work, then it'll be enough for me ; )

Mhm... worth a try. Btw... this seems a stupid question... Shouldn't it be rather an usb-to-serial connector instead of serial-to-usb ?
I was looking at this one: USB 2.0 TO RS232 SERIAL DB9 9 PIN ADAPTER CABLE GPS PDA
I'd need a male serial and male usb... right? ^ ^ This seems to be the right one... correct me if I'm wrong ; )

I'm not 100% certain on that , but in my opinion you are going from serial to usb not usb to serial

The plug on the photo is the same as on my MB... so I think I'll have a try. I can return it if not satisfied... hope so : )

    Still having problems...
Can some1 suggest me a good USB to RS232 driver for Win 7 x64? I found one, but it doesn't recognize the tablet at all... another one I found is for XP and on Virtual XP it works fine ... tho I'd rather use Win 7

Thanks in advance once again ; )

Hi pokora, Did you go to the download link I posted and downloaded the drivers ? The website now states XP/Vista/Win7 compatibility may be worth a try :)

Hi pokora, It looks like your version of Windows isn't supported by Aiptek. You're running Windows 7 x64-bit, the drivers Aiptek have are only for 32-bit version of Windows 7 - http://www.aiptek.com/drivers.htm (near bottom of page)
