Help! Driver Guru's!

Hi,

I want to speed up the process of fixing computers by gathering the most widely used drivers that i can.

I'm research a program called Acronis True Image, and it looks like with add-ons you can make a backup ISO compatible with just about any machine. Meaning, i can make a backup on a windows 7 x64 and apply it to a windows XP machine. I don't know if this is true, but i'm guessing i'd have to have a nice list of drivers or something.

Can anyone tell me if i'm heading in the right direction? Have i even posted this in the correct section?

Bottom line, i need to know if there is a list of "Most widely used" drivers? (Lan,WLan, Sound, Video, etc). Never know what kind of crappy computer i will be fixing so i'd probably want to go back 5-6 years (As far as how old the computer is). I ask because i know if your a windows 7 guru, your familiar with the previous releases. So i'm asking for a list of drivers with XP as well as 7 drivers.

i'm hoping that i wont have to fix a computer, search for the drivers, then save the drivers to my external for future use hoping that they will come in handy.

I ask people the model of the computer, but we all know how hard it is to get information from the computer impaired over the phone.

Also any insight on Acronis True Image being able to apply backup ISO's to almost any machine would be helpful.
