Netgear driver problems Please view this page.
It has more of a driver issue than a hardware, but it could be a hardware issue. I desperatley need help, as if I don't get my brother's computer to have internet, I won't be able to use a new laptop I just ordered. | My System Specs |

I can't give you the help you need but I can tell you this. I got a netgear router, got it home and spent 3 hours trying to get it to work. I took it back to the store, got a Linksys and it was working 10 minutes after I opened the box. I wonder if there'e an issue with Windows 7. Probably not but I sure could not get the netgear router to work for me. Good luck. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Keeps changing - (Custom) OS Windows 7 Professional x64 CPU Intel Core i7 860 Motherboard Gigabyte GA-P55-UD4P Memory 4GB DDR3 Mushkin 1600Mhz @ 7-8-7-20 Graphics Card MSI GTS250 1GB DDR3 Twin Frozr Sound Card Onboard realtek Monitor(s) Displays Samsung SyncMaster 24" P2450 + Samsung 20" 2033 Screen Resolution 1920 X 1080 and 1600 X 900 (#2 system 1440 X 900) Keyboard Gigabyte USB keyboard Mouse Microsoft wireless laser mouse 5000 PSU Corsair 750 HX Modular Case Lancool PC-K62 Cooling Cooler Master TX3 CPU cooler and 4-140mm and 1-120mm case Hard Drives Patriot Inferno 120GB SSD + 3 WD Blue 640GB drives Internet Speed 7 Mb down 1.5 up Other Info System #2: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T (Freezer 7 Pro cooler) - Gigabyte 880GMA-UD2H - WD 500GB Black - 9500GT (1GB) 500W OCZ modular PSU - Antec 200 case. the driver seems to support XP / Vista. when you did the installation, did you run the installation it in Vista Compatability Mode and As administrator? if not, try re-installing and see if that helps.. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number home made OS Windows 7 7264x64(main), 7260x86(secendary), XP SP3 Triple Boot CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 2.8Mhz Motherboard Intel G33 express chipset Memory 2GB DD2 667 Graphics Card Intel(R) 82G33 Graphics and Memory Controller Hub Sound Card Realtek Built into the G31 Monitor(s) Displays 19" Screen Resolution 1280x1024 Keyboard Genius Mouse Logitech Case Gigabyte SETTO Hard Drives 320GB SATA (Main), 160GB IDE (Backup) Internet Speed 1MB Download, 128k Upload |

OK lets start from the begining. what build of win 7 is installed. what does it say in networking? why do you think you have to install that specific driver?

Ken Build 7100
Networking tells me to plug in an Ethernet cable, and I need to install it because that is the driver that I need to install to get the net gear to register and work. (???)
Thank you for help, I'll go try the above.
You guys have no idea how happy you're making me! | My System Specs | | |
