Cannot scan wirelessly with Epson NX625 ... At my wits end.

    That would actually tend to indicate a software problem.

    There are masses of people on the net complaining about Epson scanners and drivers, and most of the solutions which have been tried do not seem appropriate in your case.

    For quite a number the solution seems to have been clearing any reference to escndv.exe from the registry and removing any epson folders before re-installing.

    This is just a long shot, but have you tried using CCleaner?

    http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner download and run it. You can run the cleaner anyway.

    Once you have run the cleaner, go to "Registry" and click on "Scan for issues". See if there are any references to Epson etc, if there are, click on "Fix selected issues", restart the machine, and then try to run the scanner again.

    Thank you, but there are no saved preview files, so how can I delete them? I wasn't able to operate the scanner.

    That error information only appears when the program hangs while attempting to scan and windows pops up a dialog box with "check for solutions", and "program error details", by clicking on that link, that error report is included. These steps seem to be for windows XP ... I don't see the point of deleting .BMP files, uninstalling epson scan, and then re-installing it? i've uninstalled, updated, and then reinstalled everything at least 6 times already.

    Also, I think these steps apply only to a NX625 that is USB connected ... i'll try deleting the .bmp files though ...

    Sorry, I was still editing that post.............

    I have looked at a whole series of possible solutions to a software error, but none seem appropriate to your problem/system. Try the CCleaner, and see if it helps.

    The main problem here is the lack of diagnostic possibilities. If something simply does not work, then one has to find a handle on it. Simply not functioning at all with no useful error messages makes it more or less impossible to find the cause of the fault, and one is basically reduced to trial and error.

    I use Ccleaner everyday along with the registry cleaner, it didn't solve any of the issues. Plus, neither the scanner nor the printer appear in device manager. Should they?

    The only error messages that I provided were the ones I received. Epson scan opens fine, it only has a problem when attempting to scan over the network. It hangs and I have to end the process manually ... which gives me that error when I click on error details.

    I suppose i'll wait for EPSON to email me back. There's not much else I can do, short of getting a USB cable and seeing if that works.

    The devices should appear in device manager. If they don't they are not installed! Or not properly.

    If you look in "Control Panel" "Devices and printers", it should look something like this, ( but with your devices of course);

    Neither the printer or scanner appear in device manager. Scanner does not appear in "Imaging" devices.

    Printer works flawlessly, though. Odd.

    ... how would I get the scanner to show in device manager? the drivers should have done that, shouldn't they have? or does that only apply to usb-connected devices?

    When many scanners start up, they try to set up a "preview" scan. If this fails at some point, the "preview" is still saved to disc, and this effectively prevents any further scans, as the preview is blocked. Removing such a file ( Often a .bmp file), will usually solve the issue.

    Of course, if there are none, then that is not the problem.

    The devices must appear, or they are not installed. Try clicking on "Add a device" in the "Devices and Printers" window, You should get a window like this;

    I tried doing that, my device is never found or detected in that list. Also there is no way to add a network scanner if my computer doesn't detect it ... so I guess that's why I need a USB. It will pick up the wireless printer, but not the scanner.

    My scanner is not detected in either device manager or in the wireless devices box.
