I don't know why they don't work. If they were really compatible with your machine they should work. If you're sure you didn't make any mistakes while downloading or installing, then it would appear that they're not compatible. Try using compatibility mode. Maybe they're really Vista drivers.
Compatibility Mode
Perhaps you want to try a different website for obtaining drivers. This site says, "Just create a free account, log in, and start downloading the driver updates that you need." I have no personal experience with this website.

If this still doesn't help I'd contact Sony. They would be the best source to find out why their drivers aren't working.
