Welcome Nikonfruit to the windows 7 forums.

1. What software are you trying to get updates to?
2. It would help if you filled out a bit more of your system specifications.

3. What Anti-Virus/firewall are you running on your machine?

Questions Questions..

restart your computer. delete the files that are giving you trouble (Downloaded files). Go to your manufaturers website to download them again (making sure you are selecting the right ones to download). It is very important you download the correct ones. Then, try again and see if it stays the same. You may need to update windows itself in windows update.
