Please HELP: Disk Drive Not Detecting or Loading My CD's Okay, so I'm ripping my audio CDs,
and I just had a problem getting the drive to open,
So I looked and saw a tiny hole on the drive, I stuck a paper clip in it and it opened.
Now however I cannot get it to detect any CDs. It will not load anything.
Now I looked and I realized that my CD/DVD drive was not listed on my computer.
I am trying to figure out what driver I had, so I can try re-installing it.
I run a Dell Inspiron M5010 64 bit.
PLEASE someone help | My System Specs |

Welcome Fearless to pooch And if you are comfortable working inside your case:
Here is a tip that has worked in the past.
Uninstall the optical drives in Device Manager.
Power down the computer to OFF. Disconnect the optical drives power & data cables.
Power ON the computer for a full cycle, check to see that NO optical drives are shown in Device Manager. Power down the computer to OFF. Re-connect the power & data cables to the optical drives. Power ON the computer, making sure it is connected to the Internet so Windows 7 Updates can check for the most current drivers. Then let's see if they work. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Built them myself, Science Experiments !
