vista driver to windows 7

Is it possible to recompile a vista driver to windows 7? I can install the driver, but when I try to use the configuration program for the driver an error message pops up saying that the driver/software is not installed correctly.

There are a lot of Vista drivers that would work with 7 but I'm not sure about recompiling a driver.

Is there not a Windows 7 driver available for this device, what are you trying to get this driver for?

Have you tried installing the driver in Compatibilty Mode?

Right-click the driver installer and choose Properties followed by the Compatibility tab.

Choose the option for Windows Vista Service Pack 2, select Run as Administrator under Privilege Level and apply the changes.

I've got some good news, and some bad news. The good news is that I quickly and easily got Windows Vista running in a dual boot (since XP doesn't work). The bad news is that I've got some important driver failures, that I need to at least attempt to run the game I've been doing all of this...

No Driver in Windows 7 (Or Vista!)
Baah! I hate to admit it, but one of my recent purchases of hardware I can only get a driver for XP! It's a D-Link DWL-AB520 Wireless Adapter. I don't suppose anyone knows of a way round this, or where I can get a driver? I've tried the D-Link Site and others, but no joy. I think I'm out of luck!...

Driver Compatability - Mobius 2008 conference "When it comes to compatibility, if it works with Windows Vista, it should work with Windows 7. There are no major API changes, which is a critical point: that means that if there's a Vista driver for your hardware, that should work under Windows 7...
