Windows 7: Windows 7 & ATI Radeon X1300

Windows 7 & ATI Radeon X1300

I have recently installed Windows 7 RC and I successfully install the WDM Integrated Driver for Radeon X1300 but when i reboot my computer windows decides to rollback to its original PCI standard PCI-to-PCI bridge. Now I am left with two PCI standard PCI-to-PCI bridge drivers installed and one has a caution icon on it (yellow triangle with an ! inside). In Device Manager I get the following error message:

This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)

If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.

Any support would be appreciated!

Hi and welcome to sevenforums
Thanks for filling out your system specs. It actually does help

Error code 12 indicates that 2 devices are trying to use the same irq. thats why when rebooting it rolls one back to original.

the cause and teh fix can be found here Explanation of error codes generated by Device Manager

let us know if that doesn't cure it

On the device's Properties dialog box under the General tab there is not troubleshoot option. I have tried disabling the other PCI standard PCI-to-PCI bridge but that only creates more problems and my Wireless Internet fails to connect. Am I doing something incorrectly?

No your did exactly what microsoft told you to. Unfortunately I dont have pci stuff to check so I cant follow it thru.

WHat you might be able to do is to uninstall one of them probably best to do wifi. the radeon driver will then be able to install. After it is installed try re-installing the wifi driver. Since the vid card is using resources the wifi card driver if it is well written will look for un used resources and install itself there.

Hope this helps

let us know if it doesn't work

I uninstalled both PCI standard PCI-to-PCI bridge drivers, ATI Software, WIFI drivers and reinstalled the X1300 drivers but windows continues to rollback to the original drivers and I continue to have the same problem.

Problem solved! Apparently Catalyst 8.1 works for Radeon X1300 on Windows 7. Thanks to Corpsecrank and zigzag3143 for all their help!
